May Has Arrived

There is something about May that always feels a little hopeful.

The windows stay open longer. Tiny green leaves begin stretching toward the sun. Gardens wake up. Creative ideas start peeking out from quiet corners that felt sleepy during winter. Even the light feels gentler somehow.

This season has been full in the very best kind of way.

Over the last few months, I have found myself slowly leaning into a new direction creatively. Not louder. Not faster. Just more intentional. More connected. More rooted in the kind of beauty and community I want to cultivate moving forward.

There have been paintings spread across tables, journal pages filled with ideas, tea shared during conversations, classes that ended in laughter, and moments where I quietly thought, “Yes… this feels right.”

One of the biggest things I am learning lately is that creativity is not always about producing more.

Sometimes it is about slowing down enough to actually enjoy what you are creating.

That gentle shift has been finding its way into everything lately:

•cozy creative gatherings

•watercolor explorations

•YouTube lessons and learning together

•meaningful community building

•creating spaces that feel welcoming instead of overwhelming

•allowing room for growth without demanding perfection

I have also been working behind the scenes on new ideas connected to Painted Garden, Painted Petals, Painted Pastures and all the little branches that are beginning to bloom from them. It has felt less like “building a business” and more like tending a garden slowly and faithfully. And honestly… I think that is exactly what this season is supposed to be. Not rushing. Not forcing. Just cultivating.

There is still plenty of uncertainty. Plenty of learning. Plenty of seed packets scattered across the floor beside the glitter. But I am learning that beautiful things rarely grow in perfectly organized rows all the time.

Sometimes growth looks like experimenting. Sometimes it looks like resting. Sometimes it looks like trying something new before feeling fully ready.

If you have been following along on this journey with me, thank you. Truly. Whether you have joined a class, watched a video, painted alongside me, encouraged me quietly from afar, or simply stopped here to read for a moment, I appreciate you more than you know.

I hope this month brings you small moments of beauty too.

A slower morning.A fresh page.A blooming flower.A creative spark.A reminder that you do not have to have everything figured out to begin.

Here’s to May and to letting beauty blossom. 🌿
