"Life's full of lemons". A phrase that most people don't want to hear, if any really. Yet, I do believe that life is full of lemons and it is up to us to make something of those lemons. Now, I know many people that just take the lemons and suck on them and complain about how sour they are and how their life is always filled with bad things, bad situations and bad experiences and blah, blah, blah. Then there are people that see the potential! That's me.
Now, the recent months have not been the best in the world, but that is when we learn the best. It is the adversity and trials where we get our lessons to learn, our reminder of what joy is and our vision of what we want from our lives. Let me explain.
Let's take my life as an example since that is the one I know the best. Now, I don't have to remind anyone how CoVid has effected people and businesses. My business was at an amazing level pre-CoVid and I was on cloud 9. But, the recovery from the previous months was WAY TOO SLOW and my business finances were ugly and my emotional status was running just as low. So, I decided to get a job because working for someone else would be better and easier, right?! WRONG!! That job was harder than I thought but I left on good terms AND found my life lesson in the process.
What did I learn? I learned that working for others is NOT easier but most importantly, I learned that I had given up on my passion and that I had become drained of energy, vision, passion and clarity. You see, God allowed me to go my own direction so that I could be reminded of His direction. His direction put me face-to-face with my passion again. So, I am thankful for the opportunity to work for someone else. Without that opportunity, I would still be "wondering in the wilderness".
So, you see, it is all in the perspective. Sometimes our perspective gets clouded and that's ok. We just need to start asking ourselves "what am I suppose to be learning right now?" I don't believe we are suppose to be walking through life all sad and depressed and "whoa is me" type of attitude. I believe we are to always be looking for the silver lining and lessons of life. I know it is hard. Trust me. My life is filled with the same trials and situations as you and everyone else. I just have been teaching myself to find the good. Some days, it is easy to find the good and other times it is an absolute struggle!!
My renewed spirit and passion for my business is still a work in progress, but I promise you this..... I have renewed passion and I have renewed faith in what God has placed in my life and I will not lose it again. I love and appreciate each and everyone of you. Thank you all for your patience as I struggled through these past months. Also, thank you for your continued patience as I redefine my business to be better and stronger.
So, I am taking my lemons and making lemonaide, lemon poundcake, lemon pie, lemon bars and SO much more!! This life is not a dress rehearsal, it is the real deal. What are you going to do with your lemons?? In case no one has told you lately, you are special, you are needed and you are loved!! May you be blessed-beyond-measure, as I am blessed to have you in my life!
God Bless ~Susie
